Yes. You can use the designer to create your unique pattern and choose to keep this private, for personal use if you'd like to. Designs won't be visible to anyone else and won't automatically be listed to the marketplace.
There's no obligation at all! You have a full 7 days free trial to use all of the design features and create one beautiful pattern. You can see how the tools work in practice and how user-friendly the platform is. You will be automatically signed up to the monthly membership unless you cancel within the 7 day free trial period. If you love it, you can end your trial early and start your subscription with unlimited designs and access to the marketplace with all support features.
You do - provided your design is original and was created using artwork or a photo you own (rather than someone else's art e.g. Disney). If you were to upload an image that you don't own the copyright for, you could create a cross stitch pattern for personal use but this couldn't be uploaded to the marketplace, shared, reproduced, distributed, copied or profited from.
Our software is designed to be used on desktop computers and is not optimized for use on mobile devices. While you may be able to access some features on a mobile device (phones and tablets), the full functionality and user experience is intended for use on a desktop computer. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us.
If you subscribe to our monthly plan as a member and you're unhappy, please get in touch with us to see how we can fix it. If you've used the designer as a one off and you've created and downloaded a pattern, unfortunately we are unable to refund the one off price. We are unable to refund purchases of PDF patterns within the marketplace as they are instant digital files.
Yes, you can cancel your membership at any time. You will only be charged depending on your plan e.g. if you've signed up for the month, 6 months or 12 months.
Yes, you are free to use the design tool, download your PDF pattern and sell this elsewhere in addition to our marketplace.
Marketplace FAQs
Sure! If you've created your own pattern using different cross stitch design software, you can still upload this onto the marketplace for sale as a PDF file and input your description and sale price manually.
You can list any cross stitch design you created yourself to the marketplace provided it complies with our Terms of Use. There is a minimum listing price and all new listings are subject to review which we aim to complete within a 24 hour period within working hours. Once your listing has been approved, it will be published to the marketplace.
a) Unlike other, more general handmade craft marketplaces, we are the home of cross stitch. The marketplace is exclusively for cross stitch designs which means that your creations will have a wider reach and more concentrated traffic as every visitor is interested in cross stitch.
b) There's no poor quality, copied designs due to our rigorous review process.
c) Your designs won't get lost behind millions of irrelevant listings.
d) Our commission rate is lower, with no listing fees which means that you get to keep more of the sale price.
e) We will have the world's largest selection of great quality cross stitch patterns all in one place. You can tag your listings easily and create your own profile, driving traffic directly to your page via social media.
f) It's quick and easy to use our design tool and then automatically list on the site rather than spending time on a two stage process with separate providers.
g) It's easy to search reliably using relevant keywords so visitors can find exactly what they're looking for.
The minimum price you can list your pattern for is £2.50 but there is no maximum price. We recommend pricing your patterns competitively and researching other designs on the marketplace first, but also taking into consideration what's popular, valuing your time and experience. There's a minimum commission of £0.30 per sale.
There are no listing fees, which means you can quickly and easily add your design to the marketplace for free! When you make a sale, we charge a commission fee plus a Stripe processing fee. We also collect and remit tax where applicable. If you are subscribed as a member, the commission rate is 7% and if not, the commission rate is 10%. Stripe processing fees are dependent on the location of the customer (UK or international) - the current Stripe fees can be found here. The Stripe processing fee is based on the total sale price (including tax). The commission is taken from the sale price (excluding tax where applicable). There's a minimum commission of £0.30 per sale.
For example, if a non subscribed member sold a product to a UK customer which is listed for £10, the customer has paid £12 (including applicable tax). The Stripe fee is £0.38. The tax collected and remitted by Love it Stitch it is £2. The commission charge is £1 (10% of listing price). The seller therefore receives £8.62. Payments to the seller will be initiated within 24 hours of purchase and payment received within a few days once the payment transactions complete.

All of your designs created using the Love It Stitch It software will have a watermark applied to them with the purchaser's email address to prevent any future copyright infringement.
